Nordic Seed was established in 2007 by merging the breeding and business activities of Pajbjerg Foundation at Odder, Abed Foundation in Holeby and DLA Agro. Therefore, Nordic Seed is a part of the DLA Group which includes the 5 business areas: DLA Agro, Vilmox Holding, Danish Agro Holding, Dan Aller Holding and Baltic Agro Holding. All in all, the companies in the DLA Group have a retail turnover on appr. 18.2 bill Dkr and employ about 2300 people. Nordic Seed is an important player in the field of cereal breeding, variety representation and trading with seed of cereals, pulses, rape seed and maize. Nordic Seed breeds winter wheat and spring wheat on Lolland, spring barley, winter barley, peas, lupines and field beans Dyngby near Odder and hybrid rye in Nienstädt, Germany. Nordic Seed has also a field station to conduct the trails located near Skive. Nordic Seed is performing variety testing trials in many European countries including the Nordic countries. For our self-pollinated cereal breeding programs, we are looking to appoint a Breeder Cereals to be based at our breeding station in Nienstädt, Germany.
